The Peer Mentor Program, JAY (just ask youth), is a program intended to strengthen and support youth in care in Waterloo Region by providing an array of services, assistance and learning opportunities to facilitate their independence. The role of the Peer Mentor is to facilitate and advocate these needs for youth in care so that their goals, needs and interests can be accomplished. The program advocates youth to make better decisions, build self-esteem and confidence as well as helping to foster healthy relationships among other youth.
Although the peer mentor program is only intended for youth in the Waterloo Region, the resources given within the site are encouraged to be used by other youth, students or parents that may or not may affilliated with the region. Please Contact us if you have any questions!
If you would like to request a peer mentor, contact your worker or contact us about our availability.
